June is coming to an end and that means the madness of the Transfer Portal is coming to a close. In total, over 1,400 players entered the portal, and we have 99% of our Top 100 players available committed. The lone wolf is ex-Memphis F Emoni Bates, who slots in at our 47th spot but was once thought to be the #1 player in the high school ranks. Bates struggled last year and had issues on and off the court, but he is now looking for a new home and our last major impact transfer on our board.

The biggest news over the last week was the announcement that our 25th ranked player (and he probably should be ranked higher) F Pete Nance will be joining the North Carolina Tar Heels. Nance will fill the Brady Manek role and will almost assuredly solidify the Tar Heels as the Preseason #1. He is a stretch four that will fit nicely alongside Armando Bacot and has plenty of experience in the Big 10. How Nance performs on his new team will have a major impact on their ability to reach the Final Four again.

Our 99th ranked transfer, F Emmanuel Akot, also made his decision this past week, choosing to play for Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers. Akot is a nice piece to go with #1 ranked Kendric Davis who is also set to join the new-look Tigers. He's a solid role player that can help replace some of the 83.8% of Memphis' made three pointers that were lost this offseason. Akot is also a capable defender, and his size for his position gives Memphis a long-athletic look.
