It's time for a Monday Night Monkey Knife Fight! Robert Johnson breaks down his favorite player props for Monday Night Football.
While there will be not one but two games being played on Monday Night Football due to NFL rescheduling protocols we'll be focusing our attention on the heated divisional matchup between NFC North rivals the Minnesota Vikings vs the Chicago Bears. With Minnesota currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, they are in desperate need of a win with Chicago standing in their way. Top Player Props For MNF
MORE or LESS (Kirk Cousins and Justin Fields)
The Chicago Bears defense this season has allowed 237.0 passing yards to opposing offenses this season, only allowing one Quarterback above 250 passing yards in their last five games. Kirk Cousins with a prop of 265.5 isn't far-fetched, especially on an offense averaging 277.2 through the air. But in what could be a close low-scoring divisional affair, give me less on the Kirk Cousins passing yards prop.
Justin Fields steps into this contest with a passing yards prop of 189.5 on an offense averaging 200.2 passing yards per game. Following the struggles of this offensive unit this season under Bill Lazor and Matt Nagy let me take the less on Justin Fields passing prop as well.
Kirk Cousins LESS than 265.5 passing yards
Justin Fields LESS than 189.5 passing yards
In this Monday Nights Rapidfire contest, we get a passing-yards bonus attached to Justin Fields at +76.5. That bonus is the only way I see Fields out passing Cousins in what will already be a close matchup. With a bonus that large we'll go ahead and select Justin Fields. On rushing yards, we're faced with a choice between Dalvin Cook and David Montgomery, with Montgomery having a +30.5 rushing yards bonus. While Chicago's greatest success may come from running the ball tomorrow, Cook is just an undeniable talent on a whole different level. We'll select Dalvin Cook to outrush David Montgomery.
Before we begin selecting players I want to ensure we set the goal for this Touchdown Dance at no more than 2.5 touchdowns due to the likelihood of this being a low-scoring affair between two divisional opponents. With Adam Thielen potentially out this game expect Justin Jefferson to see increased work in the passing game, making him our first selection to get a touchdown. Sticking to the Minnesota Vikings side of the ball, let's double-down and lock in Dalvin Cook to find the end zone as well. Finally, we need a Bear to break up this Minnesota-heavy build and I fully expect Chicago to be more effective on the ground than through the air so let's select David Montgomery as our final option.
