2021 Fantasy Football: Week 17 Visionary Plays

Top Fantasy Quarterback Plays for Week 17: Patrick Mahomes , Kansas City Chiefs Here we are in Week 17 and after much of the season where people wrote off the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has this team primed and ready to compete for another Super Bowl. I know that the Bengals have improved their defense, but I don't think they have faced a play caller like Andy Reid all season. I think Reid will confuse the defense all game long and Mahomes will have 300 yards passing and three touchdowns.

Matthew Stafford , Los Angeles Rams Admittedly I was disappointed in Stafford's performance last weekend but in order to win fantasy football championships it’s important to have a short memory and I will do that with Stafford in Week 17. The Ravens secondary has been atrocious and I don't think that anybody there can match up with the Rams terrific receivers. If Stafford can get just a little time to set his feet, I think he can make some big plays downfield. I think he's going to win many people a fantasy championship this weekend.

Trey Lance , San Francisco 49ers Earlier this week in my waiver wire article I told you that I thought that Lance would be a league winner in Week 17. I still feel that's the case as it looks right now that Jimmy G will not be playing and Lance should be able to feast on the Texans defense. What I love about playing mobile quarterbacks is that they're not reliant on just their arm for fantasy production. If Lance throws for 180 yards and a touchdown that would be 13 points. If he runs for another 60 yards and a touchdown that's 12 points. Put those two things together and you have a 25-point player.

Top Fantasy Running Back Plays for Week 17: Nick Chubb , Cleveland Browns Congratulations to you if you are the person who has Nick Chubb playing against the Steelers defense in Week 17. The Steelers run defense has been shockingly bad all season letting up yardage in droves to opposing running backs. In just the last four weeks alone the Steelers have led up 594 yards and four touchdowns to opposing running backs. I think Chubb has a really good chance for 150 yards and two touchdowns as we all know the Browns want to keep this game on the ground and keep the ball out of the hands of Baker Mayfield .

Ronald Jones , Tampa Bay Buccaneers To put the New York Jets' ineptitude in stopping the run into perspective just know that they've let up 1056 yards and 11 touchdowns in only the last eight weeks. What if I told you that two teams have led up less than that amount in an entire season? There's just no way Jones doesn't score and he could be the reason that many teams win their leagues.

Elijah Mitchell , San Francisco 49ers What I love so much about this game is that it makes us go outside of ourselves and learn how to be patient. To wit, I know there are many people who cut Elijah Mitchell over the last couple of weeks thinking that he would not play again this season. That could not be farther from the truth and here we are in Week 17 and Mitchell is playing the Texans at home in a game where he should have the opportunity to dominate. Do not hesitate in playing him.

Top Fantasy Wide Receiver Plays for Week 17: A.J. Brown , Tennessee Titans Brown is so integral to the Titans offense that in the second half last week he single-handedly brought the team to a victory against the 49ers. If the Titans want any chance to beat the Dolphins they are going to have to feed Brown the ball often. The beauty of how Brown plays is that they move him all over the field to take advantage of the best matchups. Miami's biggest weakness is with their slot cornerback so expect Brown to line up there a ton. I'm locking him in to all my lineups and feeling great about it.

Tyler Lockett , Seattle Seahawks The one player who I believe I will play in every single DFS lineup will be Lockett. He always seems to have his best games at home and with DK Metcalf very questionable, I think Russell Wilson will feature Lockett all game long. According to our WR/CB matchup tool , Lockett has the fourth-best matchup on the slate, confirming what I already believe to be a strong case for him to have a breakout performance.

Jaylen Waddle , Miami Dolphins Tennessee has struggled in their secondary all season long, particularly in the slot. This couldn't work out anymore perfectly for Miami because that is exactly where Waddle lines up and I would be shocked if Tua did not pepper him with double-digit targets.

Top Fantasy Tight End Plays for Week 17: Rob Gronkowski , Tampa Bay Buccaneers I've always talked about recency bias and its importance in fantasy football. Gronk disappointed his fantasy football managers last weekend but that doesn't mean he won't be ready to produce in championship week. I feel strongly that he's going to score even if he doesn't have a huge receiving week.

Noah Fant , Denver Broncos The Chargers have allowed 1001 yards and 12 touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season and although Fant has hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 6 I think there's a terrific chance for some regression to the mean here and I think he finds the end zone on Sunday.

Foster Moreau , Las Vegas Raiders I'm really hoping that Darren Waller does not suit up this weekend between his injury and being placed on the COVID list late in the week. The reason why I say this is that Moreau is in a sensational spot to dominate considering the Colts have been absolutely terrible against opposing tight ends over the last month. I took advantage of this with Hunter Henry two weeks ago and with Zach Ertz last week. With the Raiders most likely playing from behind I think that they will need to feature Moreau a ton.
