CBB DFS Slate Overview 11/6
It wouldn’t be the start of College Basketball DFS if we didn’t have a ton of projected blowouts and question marks on mid-major rotations. But here we are!!! It’s going to be really hard to build anything but star forwards and scrubs lineups. If you want to be contrarian, a balanced build is the way to go.
Core Four
F Hunter Dickinson, Kansas ($9,300) vs. North Carolina Central
Dickinson comes to Lawrence as our top-rated player in the transfer portal this offseason. The Consensus All-American averaged 32.6 fantasy points for Michigan last year and instantly becomes the number-one option for the Jayhawks. While NCCU did finish 112th in Defensive Efficiency last season, they then lost seven-foot MEAC DPOY Brendan Medley-Bacon (KenPom has them 274th in Defensive Efficiency to start the year). Dickinson is in line for a big double-double.
F Armando Bacot, North Carolina ($9,200) vs Radford
Bacot set the career Tar Heel record for double-doubles on his way to yet another productive fantasy season in 2022. It’s clear that this offseason Coach Davis wanted to build the team to fit Bacot’s skill set. Surrounded by shooters, Bacot should see his assist total rise to go along with his normal production in the paint. Radford is coming in a little thin in the frontcourt with a couple of injuries. The tallest player in their projected starting lineup is 6’7″. Bacot should cruise to a very nice night to start the year.
G Kam Jones, Marquette ($6,400) vs Northern Illinois
The pricing for the opening day slate was pretty accurate by DK for the most part … except for Jones. He should be closer to $7,400, which is close to his average price over the last 20 games last year. He is the unquestioned top scoring option for the Golden Eagles and they are projected to score 85 points according to KenPom. His floor is very safe as he finished 45th in the country in turnover percentage and produced a steal rate of nearly 3%.
G Riley Minix, Morehead State ($3,000) or G Jordan Lathon, Morehead State ($3,000) at Alabama
The reigning OVC regular season champions were dealt a big loss a few weeks ago when it was announced that OVC POY guard Mark Freeman would miss the season. For us in the DFS world, that means value. It’s hard to find any information on what Morehead is going to do rotation-wise, but it seems likely that Minix and Lathon will be in the starting lineup. Minix is more of a forward/wing who was an NAIA All-American, while Lathon is one of the oldest players in CBB who missed last year with injury. KenPom is projecting Alabama to play at the fastest pace in the country.
